Luckily, I have been taking pictures of some other things that have been going on lately though. For example:
About a week and a half ago, when I was on Spring Break, I woke up with the strangest craving. When I was a child, I loved eating Chef Boyardee's ABC's & 123's soup and peanut butter and banana sandwiches. It sounds like a weird combination, but I absolutely loved it, especially accompanied by a glass of cold milk. Well, I just had to have that meal again and ended up going to the store that day to recreate it. I have to say, it was delicious!
Another example:

We have always had plenty of wildlife at our house even though we live in the middle of the city. We have rabbits, possums, a snake once, and plenty and plenty of birds of all kinds. Two years ago a robin decided she would make a nest on top of one of the columns on our front porch. We didn't mind a bit and were quite pleased to watch the baby birds develop enough to fly away and live their own little lives. The next year, the same robin, I think, came back to make her nest and we were happy to see her return. The only problem is that birds are messy and they tend to leave droppings on the porch and on the porch swing if they have a nest there. We let the robin tend to her eggs, then birds, and were thankful when their family ventured on somewhere else. A couple months later though, we noticed another robin's nest in the same spot. Did we have to endure the whole process two times a year now? We decided the nest thing was going to have to stop. We knew we were safe for the winter, but when we saw the first signs of Spring, we decided we would place nails up on the top of the columns to prevent the birds from nesting. The birds were able to remove one of the three long nails and started making a nest. Bryan took the few strands of grass off and placed a piece of paper there so they couldn't keep building their nest. Now, keep in mind that there are two columns and we didn't put a piece of paper in amongst the nails on the other column, because it was not the corner that was preferred by the bird. We left to go somewhere for just a few hours and when we returned this is what we saw in the other corner:

The robin had built her nest around and on top of the nails on the other column. It was absolutely crazy how fast she made it. We decided that because she was so persistent we wouldn't remove it, but next year I think once they have moved on this time we are putting bricks or something up there. :)
Speaking of the porch, I planted red petunias in the front planter this past week and I was also able to get my herb garden and the back deck looking nice for the upcoming months.

I also tried planting potatoes, shallots, and garlic in two trash cans that we had that we weren't using. We'll see how they do throughout the Spring and Summer.
Today, I was able to meet Bret Witter, the coauthor of Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. The book is very cute. Some people think that it is not well-written, but the story of Dewey is amazing.
(I hate blurry pictures but sometimes it happens especially when you aren't the one behind the camera.)
So other than having a good 17 weeks checkup yesterday, which included the baby's heartrate at 147 beats per minute, I think that gets me caught up from my lack of blogging lately.
Oh, one more thing, for all of you interested, we find out if we are having a boy or a girl on May 11th!!!
