Fun-filled Weekend

I have had a wonderful fun-filled weekend with family and friends! My weekend actually started on Friday of this past week because my brother, Michael, came up Thursday afternoon so that we could leave Friday morning to go to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Six Flags had a special going on so we jumped at the chance to go. My brother loves roller coasters more than anyone else I know and he was hilarious on every one of them. I haven't seen him so excited about anything in a very long time. Before we arrived at the amusement park, we went to Lynn's Paradise Cafe, one of my favorite restaurants of all time besides the Cheesecake Factory. So with a full belly we headed over to ride some roller coasters. It probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do but so worth it just because we got to eat at Lynn's. The forecast was calling for rain but that didn't stop us. It was cloudy for the first two roller coasters and then as we were getting ready to board the third roller coaster the rain started to come down. There was not really a wait at any of the rides which was one benefit to the weather and once it started raining they continued to keep the rides going so basically all of the roller coasters became water rides. It was kind of neat. We were going to the water park later anyway so we didn't mind. We rode everything several times including the new water rollercoaster and several of the waterslides. We had such a great time.
On Saturday my parents came up to visit and we all went to hike at the Lost River Trails and my mom and me even mined for gems and crystals. Next we taught my dad how to disc golf (Bryan taught him mostly and he taught my brother how to play Thursday evening). I think my dad and brother are naturals. Mom and I did some shopping while the boys were out playing and then later that evening we took Michael to meet our friends at our weekly Bible Study. Afterward we went to see Get Smart which was really good and very funny.
Today we grilled out for lunch and we got to spend some treasured time with Nathan and Kelly since they will be moving in the next week or two. Tonight we are going down to the square to take some photographs with the Morgans and the Scruggs and then grilling out again. Good times.:)
