Full Force Nesting

This week I have been nesting like crazy. After working at school on Tuesday to get my classroom ready, I was overcome with the need to reorganize all of the stuff that we have in the basement. By stuff I mean tons and tons and tons of books along with other various school stuff not to mention all the stuff that we own that is house related. I boxed up about 12 boxes of books and various school stuff only after sorting through all the books that I wanted to keep out on 4 bookshelves that we have in the basement. Since I will still be using some of them for tutoring I wanted to make sure that I kept out all my favorites and books that I thought I might need. I still have to go through all my crafty stuff and organize it, but things are looking better in the basement.
I have also been working hard at keeping the house clean since I have started to transition my tutoring from WKU's campus to our house. Along with all this cleaning, I have been busy cooking too. We are trying very hard to eat at home and to not be wasteful with the food that we buy. So far we have done really well and have only eaten out a couple of times in the last three weeks or so. I have been searching for at least a couple of new meals each week so that we at least have some variety and some of the newly added meals to my recipe book include Orange Pork Tacos, Orange and Balsamic Chicken, and Beef Stroganoff. The next time I make each of these I will try to take some pictures and post the recipes.
Even though I have been staying busy during the day I can't seem to fall asleep as easily as I used to so I have been doing some reading at night. Right now I am reading a book called The Unlikely Disciple by Kevin Roose. It is very interesting and it's not a book that I would typically read since it is nonfiction. Once I am finished with it, I have sorted through all the books that I own that I have not read and I plan to make my way through all of them. Since we are in "practice mode" as I like to call it right now for our future budget I can't just go buy whatever book that I please anymore. I have quite a lot of books that have not been read but when I am done with all of those which should be in a very long time, I am going to have to put my local public library to good use. Things are going to be different in the Tillery household but I think all of the changes so far are good and will continue to lead to a less wasteful lifestyle.
