You know those people that start decorating way too early for Christmas, like right after Halloween? Well, I think I am becoming one of those people when it comes autumn. I was absolutely filled with joy when I saw mums on sale at Wal-mart the other day and I have been dreaming about apple cider, pumpkins, crisp fall air, and all the wonderful things that autumn has to offer ever since then. There is something about the upcoming time of year that is so comforting to me. I love the laid back feel that everyone seems to nestle into and I especially love the emphasis that autumn has on family and friends.
I don't know if it's some weird nesting thing or if it's just because I know that I might not have as much time in the coming weeks to decorate for fall, but I feel a strong urge to get the house ready for my favorite season of the year. So tomorrow, I am breaking out my autumn accents and replacing my petunias with mums. Although the final days of summer are not quite over and I am not trying to wish them away, I am looking forward to all that this autumnal season has to offer.
