Realizations

As I was thinking back over this past weekend and looking ahead to the coming weeks, I came up with several realizations.

  • I have wonderful parents! They came to visit Saturday and we had the best time just hanging out!
  • While my parents were visiting we ate at Bob Evans and since it was the first time that Bryan and I had ever eaten there, I realized that it was very tasty.
  • On Sunday I had a baby shower with some of my BG friends and they are absolutely amazing! I got some really cool and thoughtful gifts (pictures coming soon) and I had a great time spending time with each and every one of them.
  • Sunday evening we had dinner with our friends Nathan and Kelly and Casey and Jo. I realized how thankful I am to have them in my life.
  • At dinner, Kelly pointed out that Bryan and I have been together for 11 years! Our 6 year anniversary is Sunday, but if you count our dating/engagement time we have been together for 11 years. That is amazing to me. The time has flown by! I want to cherish every moment and I can't wait to cherish each and every new moment too.
  • When the Scruggs' and Morgan's came over to take a peek at the puppies after dinner, I realized how we truly are making the right move by passing Sophie on to a better home.
  • This morning (in the shower) I realized that next week when I start school I will almost be 34 weeks pregnant! Holy, moly! How has it gone by so fast? Full term is considered at 37 weeks. That means I could possibly go into labor and everything would be considered ok only after about 3 weeks of teaching!!!! Hopefully it will be more for our income's sake, but wow, that is crazy to even consider.
  • This morning I realized how much I really miss Kelly being in Bowling Green. Although we will have more time to spend together this week, I really enjoyed hanging out this morning!
  • After receiving our new t-shirts for the Back to School Bash, I have realized that t-shirts are not my best look. T-shirts are not very flattering on me right now.
  • This evening I met my new first grade students and it seems as if I am going to have a relatively easy class for these next few weeks. Whew!
  • I also was able to meet my replacement. My replacement is going to act as a volunteer in my classroom starting the second week of school so she can learn the routine and how we do things at our school, but then she is going to gradually take over once the word is officially out that she is my replacement. So the class will be hers sort of from the beginning but it will definitely be extremely helpful for me since I won't have to do long term planning for a sub or have to worry about the kids being left with someone that has no idea about what is going on. I realized on my drive home how incredibly blessed I am with this situation.
  • After an incredibly busy day and weekend, I now realize how tired I am. I just hope that I can actually fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. :)
