Big, Big Baby

I started going to my weekly visits today. We had an ultrasound since I am considered high risk due to the GD, I had a Group B Strep test, and this was the first visit where my progress "down there" was checked. At 35 weeks, Baby Seth is measuring in at a whopping 6 pounds and 5 ounces. I was only 6 pounds, 3 ounces when I was born so he is already bigger than I was when I was born. He is going to be a big, big baby I believe. I was jokingly told by my doctor not to eat anything for the next three weeks and to feel free to let my water break at 37 weeks. Obviously I have to eat and I can't control the water breaking thing, but it was pretty funny. On a serious note, my doctor said that if I am dialated to 2 centimeters at 38 weeks, then he would definitely induce and might have to induce anyway if our baby boy keeps packing on the pounds. Right now I am dialated a "tiny fingertip nub's worth", so not even 1 centimeter.
I am overwhelmed with the thought that we could be holding our baby boy in as little as three weeks! It just seems like the time has flown by. I think we are ready. The nervousness has transitioned over to excitement for us I think and we are mostly prepared. I started packing my hospital bag and Seth's bag a few nights ago and intend to finish this weekend. I have a few last minute things that I need to actually order like the breast pump and the cloth diapers but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't have them before the arrival of our son. With the possible earlier delivery date, we are going to have to find homes for the puppies and Sophie! We better get on that!

*Ultrasound pics coming soon!
