Surprise!!

Many of you know the story about our first Christmas and the camera fiasco. In a very short version of the story, Bryan bought me a digital camera, the store didn't have the one he wanted in stock so he bought a nicer, more expensive camera instead so that I would have something to open on Christmas day, and then two weeks later he made me return it for a cheaper, not as nice camera. I have given Bryan a hard time about this ever since (almost 4 years). I loved the camera he made me take back and the camera that I got stuck with has given me nothing but grief and I have made sure that Bryan realized that.

Since Bryan has gotten into this whole photography thing now, and has a very nice camera by the way, I have been begging for a new camera that is small, easy to use, and actually works. When I got home from working with my students today, I brought our huge but very nice camera in and as always got a short lecture from Bryan about camera care and how I didn't do something right when I was putting the camera back in the camera bag. My response to that same short lecture is, "If I had my own camera that actually worked, I wouldn't have to use yours." Bryan walked out of the room and came back with a small, shiny Nikon Coolpix in his hands. I was totally surprised!! I did not have a clue that he bought it or had even thought about buying it. I was completely overjoyed and he definitely scored big on this one!!

He is at the moment reading the manual it for though. I guess no matter how much closer he gets to being somewhat romantic, he will always be my logical Bryan. :)

I managed to take some pictures at dinner because I was so happy. As you can see from the second picture Bryan was starting to get a little aggravated. He knew I was happy so he didn't say anything, he just gave me the look.

Goodness Stephanie... sounds like you've had all kinds of excitement since we left BG! You'll just have to think about how sweet Bryan was in getting you the camera while he's on those steriods. Hope it clears up quickly! Tell Bryan it's karma... (of course I'm just joking!)

Thanks for the blog compliments! I stole most of the new layout from your blog because I think yours is so cute! I'm so glad to be able to keep up with you now:)

Dave and I will be up in BG for at least a night in September, if not sooner, so hopefully we'll get to see you then! We sure miss you guys!
